We're a small outdoor-gear company in Bozeman. We don't sell, rent, or trade your information. We collect the minimum we need to ship a Shield and follow up about your field experience.

2. What we collect
At checkout
- Name and shipping address — to ship the Shield.
- Email address — for order confirmation, shipping updates, and an optional 30-day field-feedback request.
- Phone number — used only by the carrier on delivery day.
- Payment information — handled by our PCI-DSS-certified payment processor; we never store full card numbers.
From your visit
- IP address and approximate region.
- Pages viewed, time on site, the page that referred you here.
- Browser, OS, screen size — used to render the site correctly.
3. Cookies
First-party cookies hold your cart and remember your cookie-banner choice. One analytics service sets its own cookie to count return visits. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on the site itself.
4. Who we share data with
- Payment processor — handles your transaction.
- Shipping carrier — receives your name and address.
- Hosting provider — Cloudflare Pages.
- Analytics — aggregate-only.
- Email service — order and support emails.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
5. How long we keep data
Order records: kept indefinitely so you don't lose your warranty proof. Server logs and analytics: 90 days, then rotated.
6. Your rights (CCPA / state privacy laws)
If you live in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or any state with comparable privacy legislation, you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, get a copy of it, correct it, and delete it. We respond within 45 days.
7. Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is no opt-out to set; the answer is permanently "no." For written confirmation, email [email protected].
8. EU / UK residents (GDPR / UK-GDPR)
You have the same access, correction, and deletion rights as U.S. customers, plus portability, restriction, and the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. Our lawful basis is contractual necessity for order data and legitimate interest for analytics.
9. Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
10. Security
HTTPS everywhere. PCI-DSS-certified payment processor. Order records held in controlled-access storage with encrypted backups. Breach notifications within 72 hours of confirmation.
11. International transfers
The company and our hosting are based in the United States. For orders outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to the U.S. for fulfillment. EU / UK transfers rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses.
12. Accessibility statement
We aim for WCAG 2.1 AA on haltoutdoors.com — semantic HTML, sufficient color contrast, keyboard-navigable controls, descriptive image alt text. Found an issue? Email [email protected] with the page and a description. We acknowledge within one business day and aim to fix within 30 days.
13. Changes
If we make a meaningful change, we update the date at the top and post a notice on the home page for 30 days.
